Members of our division were just awarded a $40k grant by the Johns Hopkins Medicine - Allegheny Health Network Research Discovery Award, promoting collaboration in Obstetrics & Gynecology between the two institutions.
The project will be led by Principal Investigator Runzhi Wang, MD, MHS of the Coleman Research Group and Co-Investigator Saumya Sao, BA of the Coleman Research Group. The Allegheny Health Network Co-Principal Investigator is Danielle Smith, MD, PhD, Director of OB Operations at West Penn Hospital within the Allegheny Health Network. Jenell Coleman, MD, MPH will serve as the faculty mentor for the project.
The project will explore vaccine hesitancy with the goal of identifying methods to close gaps in HPV vaccination in the US. The team also hopes to gain insight into how the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted HPV vaccine hesitancy, and how HPV vaccine hesitancy can help inform COVID-19 vaccine roll-out.
Congratulations, team! Learn more about the Hopkins-Allegheny collaboration here.
